Kindergarten 2024

Kindergarten 2024 Transition Information

Our plan for transitioning your child

The Kindergarten team has prepared a thorough Kindergarten Orientation information package to share with you in preparation for your child starting school in 2024.

Kindergarten Transition Days

If your child attends preschool on this day, they will attend the transition day with their preschool teachers and group. If your child does not attend preschool on a Wednesday or if they do not attend one of our local preschools, they will need to be dropped off and picked up by a parent or family member on their allocated day. We ask that you use the gate nearest the hall where a teacher will meet you.

The transition days allow your child to visit a new environment with familiar adults and children and we believe that this will assist them in transitioning to school and having a successful start.

First Day of School

All Kindergarten students will attend a Best Start Assessment booking on either Thursday 1st, Friday 2nd, Monday 5th or Tuesday 6th February. A booking email will be sent at a later date. All Kindergarten students will begin school on Wednesday 7th February 9:20am-3:00pm. The students will be observed by the Kindergarten teachers during craft and play activities, similar to those we would have completed on the Kindergarten transition days. We will form the 2024 Kindergarten classes and parents will be informed of their child’s class and teacher by a note that afternoon. The official first day of school in their Kindergarten 2024 class will be Thursday 8th February.
